Guardrails AI Joins Harvey

Harvey today announced its acquisition of San Francisco-based Guardrails AI, an AI security platform for agents. Guardrails is a pioneer of AI reliability and simulation infrastructure. They created the first open-source AI guardrails that help teams find where their agents stray from intended behavior and manage agent risk in real time. Guardrails’ co-founders, Shreya Rajpal and Zayd Simjee, and their team will join Harvey’s product and engineering organization. This marks Harvey’s fourth acquisition of 2026.

The acquisition accelerates Harvey’s work on agent reliability. Harvey’s agents now carry out multi-step legal work over hours and days, across matters, documents, and firm knowledge. That leaves no room for errors that surface only after the work is delivered. 

The Guardrails team has spent three years making agent behavior easier to test, predict, and control. Their guardrails framework defined the abstractions the industry now builds on and is downloaded more than 250,000 times a month. They also created Snowglobe, a simulation environment where synthetic users stress-test agent behavior and surface failure modes before real users encounter them. That expertise specifying, simulating, and evaluating agent behavior will strengthen the guardrails and evaluations Harvey builds across its platform. Guardrails’ investors include Zetta Venture Partners, Bloomberg Beta, Pear VC, Factory, and Microsoft.
